Custom Crown Molding in Springfield, MO

Tall ceilings, historic profiles, or a design that needs more presence than stock crown can deliver — we design and install custom built-up assemblies and match hard-to-find profiles.

What "custom" means for us

  • Built-up assemblies. Two to four moldings stacked into a single architectural crown for 9', 10', and vaulted ceilings.
  • Profile matching. Historic homes in Rountree, Phelps Grove, and Walnut Street often have profiles that aren't in any current catalog. We match them.
  • Stain-grade hardwood. Oak, walnut, poplar, and cherry crown for stained finishes in libraries, dining rooms, and studies.
  • Coffered ceilings. Full ceiling assemblies with crown, beams, and inset panels.

Design consult

For custom work we spend more time up front — sample profiles laid up against your ceiling so you can see them at scale, and mock-up corners to confirm the proportion works in the room before we cut a full run.

Custom Work FAQs

Can you match crown molding in a historic Springfield home?
Matching older profiles is a normal part of custom crown work. It usually starts from a physical sample or on-site tracing, then a close stock match is sourced or new molding is milled to the profile.
What is a built-up crown assembly?
A built-up assembly stacks two or more moldings to create larger, more architectural profiles — ideal for tall ceilings and formal spaces where a single-piece crown looks undersized.
Can you do stain-grade custom crown?
Yes. We work in poplar, oak, walnut, and other hardwoods for stain-grade projects.
